Today, Creative Center for Children is closed for a teacher in-service day. That means no children in the building, but it does not mean a quiet day. Our teaching team is spending the day doing the kind of work that makes them better at everything they do for your kids.

What actually happens on an in-service day

A lot of families wonder what a teacher in-service day really looks like. The honest answer: it depends on what the team needs most. Today's agenda includes time for cleaning and organizing classroom spaces so teachers can start the new week fresh. There are also repairs and facility updates being taken care of, the kind of behind-the-scenes work that keeps our large campus running smoothly.

The heart of the day, though, is the staff meeting and training block. Our director shapes this time around what will most benefit the team, building on skills that directly support children and families. This is how our teaching team keeps growing, even after years in the classroom.

Why this matters for your child

Teachers who have time to reflect, learn, and connect with each other come back to the classroom sharper and more energized. The work our team does on in-service days shows up in the way they greet your child every morning, the way they design activities, and the care they bring to every interaction.

In-service days are not days off. They are an investment in the people who show up for your children every single day. We are grateful for a team that takes that investment seriously.

We will see everyone back in the classroom tomorrow.
